Mosquito Squad Mosquito Control Gears up for the 2012 Season

As some people search for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift to give their loved ones, or plan for the upcoming Presidents Day weekend, we at Mosquito Squad are gearing up for the Spring and the mosquitoes that come with it.
Our goal every season is to provide our clients with as much outdoor enjoyment without the annoyance of mosquitoes as we can. But that takes planning in advance. All of our Mosquito Squad franchisees use the winter months to get all parts of the business in order so they can provide the best mosquito control possible in the Spring. Trucks are services, equipment is inspected, and applicators are modeling?
Inspired by Mosquito Squad mosquito eliminator Dread Skeeter, Mosquito Squad franchisee Hugh Jones (Greensboro and Winston-Salem) bulks up for the season ahead.
Yup. In 2012, your local Mosquito Squad applicators may look a little different. This year, they will all be sporting the Mosquito Squad uniform of a green dry-fit shirt (as pictured to the right) and khaki pants. We feel it is important for our mosquito control applicators not only be comfortable, but look approachable to our clients and their neighbors.
As our franchisees organize and plan for the upcoming mosquito season, start asking yourself how you would use your outdoor living spaces if they were free of mosquitoes. Would you host more outdoor dinner parties? Are there games your kids would enjoy playing in the backyard? Signing up with Mosquito Squad’s season-long barrier spray now will mean that you don’t have to worry about annoying bites this Spring or Summer. We will let you know when we are coming to spray your yard and you get to sit back and enjoy.

Mosquito Squad Named a World Class Franchise!

We are happy to announce that Mosquito Squad was named a World Class Franchise by the Franchise Research Institute and FranSurvey! We recently asked the Franchise Research Institute to survey our franchise owners to improve our system and support. Based on all the positive feedback, we were designated a World Class Franchise.

Mosquito Squad Gears Up for 2010!

For the past few days, I’ve been attending Mosquito Squad‘s 2010 annual meeting at the Westin Hotel in Richmond, VA. It consisted of two and half days packed full of helpful information to get everyone ready for the upcoming year. Everything from marketing and business management to safety requirements and best practices were covered. As great as the presented information was, personally, I was most impressed by the franchise owners themselves.
For most franchisees, this week was their first annual meeting (and the first time I had met the majority of them). I was truly blown away by the enthusiasm this group has for the business. My favorite part of the meeting was simply when the franchise owners introduced themselves, explained why they bought the business and shared something personal about them. The reasons were all different, but all of them were great!
When people are considering a franchise, many do it for the support they get by joining an existing organization. Yes, the corporate office provides a lot of assistance, but the franchisees also attain support and knowledge from other franchise owners. Over the last two days I have seen the more experienced owners share everything they’ve learned (good and bad) to those who are coming into their first season.
I know I’m biased, but I cannot say enough about our franchise owners (you can find your local squad here). They are not only enthusiastic about what they do, but they are genuinely wonderful people. Thank you to all of our franchise owners that came to see us in Richmond!
Mosquito Squad Receives Military Friendly Franchise Award

We all like awards, but this one is really cool. Just recently, all three Outdoor Living Brands‘ companies, including Mosquito Squad were given the Military Friendly Franchise Award from G.I. Jobs magazine.
G.I. Jobs helps veterans with everything work-related after they leave active duty. They provide information on interviews, moving and the best companies to be part of. They offer a whole search on their website for Military Friendly Franchises.
According to Census data, veterans are more likely to own a business than a non-veteran. Franchises are a great option because, although you own a business, you still are following a structured business plan.
We are really proud of this award. Congrats Mosquito Squad!
